'One of the most alarming steamer accidents which has occured on the Severn in past years took place at Diglis, when a young Birmingham woman travelling in a Stourport steamer lost her life. When it is stated that at one time no fewer than 50 people were either in the water or partly submerged by the flooding of the boat it will be seen that it is remarkable that is had not recorded a heavier death toll.
