Valentine Green related a grim story of a Mrs Glover, who lived next to the church, and who lost her two children by smallpox. The grief so unhinged the mother's mind that her husband had to take her away from home whenever a funeral was to take place at the church. But a year later, to the day, the door of the crypt had been left open, and she was discovered dead on the coffins of her babes.
