David Cameron has announced that mother's names should be added to 'outdated' marriage certificates, following the campaign by Alisa Burkimsher Sadler who started earlier this year 'the change.org pettion'.

He agreed that the content of marriage registers in England and Wales has not changed since the beginning of Queen Victoria's reign.

At present only the fathers names is required and not inline with modern Britain and it's high time the system was updated he commented.

Mr Cameron requested the Home Office to look at how this can be addressed.
