Mrs. Teddie Wright, then Teddie Howsen, recalled playing at the old Theatre Royal, Worcester:

'I loved playing at Worcester. You would have all the landowners from the county in the audience, and the people who ran an oyster bar just across the road from the theatre would send oysters over to us. You could'nt sit in the stalls or circle unless you were in evening dress. The theatre had marvellous acoustics. I cried and cried when they took the roof off that Theatre'
