At a meeting of the Worcestershire Archaeological Society in 1945, Mr.Alec MacDonald mentioned a discovery in part of the Severn bank, rather below the Cathedral ferry, opposite the row of villas beside the Severn. What was revealed seemed to be the remains of an old ford. There were two small walls with bases of stone bearing medival tooling, some indications of a little stepway, and a causeway could be seen running out under the water. In his opinion, it was medieval. (Bill transcribed this from Berrow's Worcester Journal, 31.3.1945)
